Tune Without a Tuner

New Songs:




If you don't have a tuner, you can tune to your low 'E' string by following these steps:



Note (no pun intended) that only two strings are ever played when you’re tuning using this method - the string your finger is on, and the string directly below it (from a direction perspective).  Try and match the tone of the string you finger is not on to the tone of the string that your finger is on

New Strumming Pattern and Alternative Chords I've got a new strumming pattern for you this week.  It goes along with 2 songs I've already given you. These songs are: How He Loves Who You Say I Am Here's a link a soft printable copy of this sheet Generally, most worship songs have beats that can be counted in and/or divided by 4 beats (4/4 time signature). The first strumming pattern we discussed goes with those kinds of songs. For review it looks like this: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 A A A A A A Accents (hard strums) are on counts 1, 4, and 7. There are however, a number of songs where the beats can be divided by 3 (in 6/8 time signature). Hi Everyone, Welcome to the Worship Guitar Small Group Blog! I thought that since we'll playing songs and learning about guitar and a bit of music theory and things, it might be handy to have everything available for you on the web - so here we are! Strumming (take II)

Strumming Reviewing what we’ve talked about regarding strumming so far (which really hasn’t been much), it looked like this: Simple strumming for most songs also goes to a count of eight down-strokes/strums.
